
Despite the current economic slump, Eastern Communications, the country's pioneer telecommunications company, is expanding its operations and increasing its manpower by 12 percent to meet its P5 billion revenue target for 2009. “While the company will be conservative in its present spending, given the global economic slowdown, we will not sacrifice the quality of the future,” Edwin Domingo marketing and business development head of Eastern Communications, stated. Hence, Eastern Communications is hiring more people skilled in Sales, IT and ECE. The expansion will support the company's 14 new products and 16,000 new lines. In addition to traditional bandwidth and connectivity solutions, Eastern is offering new products including wireless access, services for high-end Internet cafes, a new data center, business applications and special packages for SME's and corporations.
