1. Double click on the My Computer icon on your desktop. In the My Computer window, double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon. The first time you create a dial-up networking connection, Windows NT will beep and present you with this window:
2. Click OK to continue. You will then go through the New Phonebook Entry Wizard. 3. In the first window of the wizard, you will enter a name for the new phonebook entry. For the field that says Name the new phonebook entry: type in a Connection Name and click on Next to continue.
4. The next window of the wizard asks for information about the server you will be calling. Select the last option, ...The non-Windows NT server..., then click on Next to continue.
5. The next window asks for the dial-up phone number. Enter the dial-up number in the Phone number field. (Note: Do not include the area code.) Click on Next to continue. 6. You will then be asked which protocol you need to use for connecting. Select Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP). Click on Next to continue. 7. The next window allows you to select login options. Select the None option (as shown). Click on Next to continue.
8. You will now be prompted for your IP address. Your IP address is dynamically assigned, where you will get a different one each time you log on. Leave the entry as all zeros (as shown). Click on Next to continue.
9. The wizard will now prompt you for your Domain Name Service (DNS) entries. Type in 203.167.97.66 for the DNS server:. Leave the WINS server field blank. Click on Next to continue.
10. You will now see a window stating that you have completed the setup. Click on Finish to continue. You are now ready to connect. |
