Eastern holds a “Velocity Party” for the Cebu Business Sector

Cebu City takes notice the inherent possibility of being a significant player in the global ICT and ITES industry. Cebu is also becoming an IT HUB as many companies, either local or international are establishing their headquarters in Cebu. Eastern Communications supports these companies as it continues to provide fast and reliable connectivity services for the local businesses there.

To feature the speed and reliability of its services, Eastern Communications held a Velocity Party last October 28 at the Arctic Hall of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. It was attended by more than a hundred representatives from the Business Sector of Cebu including those coming from the IT, BPO, Academic, and Manufacturing Industries.

Eastern supported the seminar Procurement Best Practices Series: Buying Services Spend last April 14, 2011 at the Fiesta San Miguel, Mezzanine Level, Dusit Thani Manila. This is the first of a series of workshops designed to expose procurement, finance, manufacturing, IT, and C-level executives’ best practices of supply management professionals.

The seminar was attended by sourcing and purchasing professionals, managers, directors and members from the other departments who are involved in purchasing such as technical, IT, engineering, logistics and quality control.

Eastern Communications participated as a sponsor and the workshop’s official Internet provider via IDS 4Mbps dedicated bandwidth. In addition to this, Eastern also provided workshop kits. Supporting this workshop enabled Eastern to also market their IDS, DSL, dataHUB and SuccesSME online CRM products.

PASIA is also supported by top business organizations such as Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX), The American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AmCham), the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) which also play various roles in their respective advocacy programs.

Eastern supports the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines, Inc. (SEIPI), the leading organization foreign and local semiconductor and electronics companies in the Philippines. With more than 230 company members to date, the association’s objective is to enhance the competitive environment for electronics business to grow in the Philippines, thus driving the Philippines towards global leadership in Information and Communications technology.

To show our support, Eastern sponsored the General Membership Meeting of the Association of SEIPI IT Executives and Professionals or ASITEP on June 1, 2011 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City. The association tapped more than 100 attendees which included IT directors, managers, supervisors and other IT related staff, coming from different SEIPI member companies and IT- related industry. During this General Meeting, several workshops were conducted: “IT Enabling the High Tech Industries” which tackled IT solutions that enable workplace collaboration, enhance manufacturing operations and develop smart decisions. The GMM also coincided with the Annual Philippine Semiconductor and Electronics Convention and Exhibition, PSECE 2011.

Aside from the corporate exposure, the event also gave the chance for Eastern to showcase their business connectivity services as well as all of their value-added services like IntelliADS (smart digital billboards), SuccesSME (online CRM tools for SMEs) and the dataHUB.

The Bank Marketing Association of the Philippines or BMAP is an organization of banking institutions which seeks to upgrade the practice of bank marketing in the country. Organized in 1974, It is a non-stock, non-profit organization aimed at being a globally-respected association of experts in the field of bank marketing. It has grown into a membership of some 46 banking institutions over the last 25 years.

Eastern Communications has been invited to be a sponsor of the Bank Marketing Association of the Philippines’ (BMAP) recently concluded General Membership Meeting (GMM) last Aug 26, 2011 at the Outback Steak House, Glorietta 4, Makati City. Eastern gave a workshop on the trends of digital marketing and social networking.

It also gave Eastern the opportunity to promote its products and services especially those which are of great interest to the marketing practitioners of the banking sector.
