Over 400 runners participated in the run coming from different companies inside LISP I. The winners of the run were from Ionics Inc. and NXP Semiconducters Cabuyao Inc.  Eastern supported the event by providing run signage and prizes to the finishers.  It was indeed a great way to promote environmental awareness and concern in terms of business practices and daily living.

To show their appreciation for the continuous support of their clients, Eastern culminated the activity with a thanksgiving celebration last November 23, 2012. This celebration of success was themed as the Eastern Masquerade Ball. The Venetian style masquerade ball was the perfect inspiration in extending gratitude and renewing the thrust of Faster, Better service in this key location.

Eastern’s Cebuano clients were treated to a royal masquerade experience by the Cebu Music String Quartet at the foyer of Arctic at the Waterfront Hotel. The festivity was brought to an even higher level by the internationally acclaimed performers of Dancesport Cebu and raffle prizes ranging from Petron E-Fuel cards to gift certificates and gadgets.

It was a festive night of celebrating the company’s relationship with its clients, as well as its incorporation into the San Miguel Group of Companies. This brings forth more exciting offerings and a wider range of service to its existing clientele.

The masquerade ball in Laguna was held at the Paseo Premiere Hotel while in Cavite, the event took place at Island Cove. The guests were welcomed by thematic masquerade music and were each given masks as souvenirs upon entrance. Dinner was well-enjoyed with a show band and prizes were given all through the night ranging from Petron e-Fuel cards to various electronic gadgets.

The masquerade celebration was not only an avenue to celebrate the relationship between Eastern and its existing clientele but also Eastern’s incorporation into the San Miguel Group of Companies. Eastern Communications participated in PSITE’s 1st ever IT Student Congress last January 30, 2013, held at the University of the East – Recto, Manila. The Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators Foundation Inc. (PSITE) organized the event with an objective to keep the students abreast with the latest innovations and developments in the IT Industry.

Eastern Communications took part in the event by presenting different IT solutions that will help students understand business continuity and IT infrastructure that will help them prepare in the real world of the IT industry. The activity was also designed to help the students focus on their technical and interpersonal skills. The event was attended by IT experts and 800 students from different academic institutions.

Close to 1000 registered participants joined in the fun run of various categories like 3k, 5k, 10k and 21k. Trained athletes, families and kids from Dualtech’s partners and alumni joined in this fundraising and celebration of Dualtech Center’s 30th founding anniversary. To add to the hype and excitement, raffle prizes were given away like different Eastern merchandise and appliances from other event sponsors. The event was a success, it was able to raise funds for the continued improvement of the school’s Dual Training System and facilities.

As a partner in this mission, Eastern sponsored the event held at the Greenhills Badminton Roofdeck in San Juan last October 20 and 27, 2012. It also led a team towards the semi-finals pitted against other sponsoring and participating groups and companies. Eastern gave away freebies to the participants during the opening ceremony . The event was deemed successful with the number of groups who actively participated in the noble cause.

The 19th of October was a night of thanksgiving and renewed commitment to serve Eastern Communications clients Faster, Better. The Main Lounge of the Manila Polo Club was transformed into a huge Oktoberfest beer hall. It also celebrated of the successful partnership between Eastern and San Miguel Corporation. All the guests were Eastern Communications’ company’s top accounts.

Mr. Alvin Tolentino, the EVP of Systems Integration gave the opening remarks citing that Eastern is now part of the San Miguel group companies and the advantage that this brings to its customers. “Being a part of San Miguel brings synergy of resources” Alvin said. Mr. Paolo Sitaca, the Head of Marketing, gave the audience an update of Eastern’s recently activated NGN (Next Generation Network); the expansion of the company’s fiber network and upgrade of facilities to serve more clients better, faster. He also provided and a preview of the upcoming products Eastern is developing for the changing needs of its clients.

The hostess of the evening, Sheryll Crystal, kept the energy level up throughout the event. To hype up the crowd even more were the Stylo band and the Mocha Girls. Their performances were both stunning and entertaining. In between their acts were awards and rewards! Loyalty appreciation awards were given to Eastern’s top three most loyal clients (based on the number of years of contracted Eastern service). These included Asian Development Bank and Philippine National Bank who have patronized the company’s services for 47 years since 1965 and JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., who has been an Eastern client for 21. The rest of the guests were given chances to win numerous prizes gadgets, gift certificates from top hotel partners in Metro Manila and round trip tickets to local and international destinations from their affiliate companies, Air Philippines and Philippine Airlines. All the other guests were given an Eastern beer mug and client kits.

To cap the occasion, Ms. Ria Anne Tan, the Head of the Customer Management and Business Development department re-expressed the gratitude to the attending top clients. She also thanked everybody who came and celebrated the Oktoberfest night with Eastern. She ended the evening by pledging continued product excellence and customer-centric services.
